For the better part of a decade, fans have tuned in to see Paige DeSorbo and her Summer House co-stars drive out to the Hamptons on summer weekends to party, drink, fight, and hook up\u2014your classic reality TV<\/a> drama. But now the Bravo star is revealing why she made the decision to leave Summer House after seven seasons on the show.<\/p>\n In a recent interview with Byrdie<\/a>, Paige revealed that she simply had an \u201coverwhelming sense\u201d that her time on the show had come to an end. \u201cI know I would\u2019ve been doing a disservice to [the show],\u201d she explained. \u201cThey accept a certain level of showing up, and I couldn\u2019t give them that.\u201d<\/p>\n If you recall, the most recent season of Summer House for Paige revolved around the end of her relationship with Southern Charm\u2019s Craig Conover<\/a>\u2014and according to her, that storyline was a difficult one to share so publicly.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing on reality TV, there’s a level\u2014this is a harsh word\u2014of, like, brainwashing,\u201d she explained. \u201cThat\u2019s not real life. You\u2019re not stopping people on the street and being like, \u2018I just had a thought that I hate my boyfriend.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n For Paige, the hardest part of leaving the show was getting over the fear that her \u201ccareer would be over.\u201d As she explained, \u201cThere\u2019s an element of thinking you need that show and network, and Hannah [Berner] was reminding me they’re not in charge of where you are in your career. I am assimilating back into society. I\u2019m like, what do people do on a Saturday night in the summer?\u201d<\/p>\n Paige first announced back in June that season 9 of Summer House was her last. \u201cLike all good things (and some bad decisions), it\u2019s time for this chapter to close,\u201d she wrote in part in an Instagram post announcing her decision, adding, \u201cYou haven\u2019t seen the last of me, I promise.\u201d<\/p>\n Paige DeSorbo via Instagram<\/span><\/p>\n She then opened up more about her decision a month later during an interview with Larry Crespo\u2019s Bravo by Gays<\/a> podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen it came time to start thinking about the summer, I really just had a moment where I was like, \u2018Wait a minute, I can\u2019t go film a TV show,\u2019\u201d Paige said. \u201cThis past spring, I was like, \u2018I really need time off.\u2019 I don\u2019t physically think I could film Summer House.\u201d<\/p>\n The decision to leave Summer House did not come lightly and was made after \u201cmonths and months of thinking,\u201d Paige said, though she did have a feeling that season 9 would be her last when she finished filming in 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely felt different leaving last summer. There was something where I had this gut feeling where I was just like, \u2018This is probably the last time I’ll ever leave this house,\u2019\u201d she recounted. <\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
