Ellen DeGeneres<\/strong> is currently facing a lawsuit.<\/p>\n The former talk show host, 67, was recently sued for a car accident that took place on October 16, 2023, in Santa Barbara County, California, per court documents obtained by People<\/em><\/a> last week.<\/p>\n A woman alleged in court docs that the comedian \u2014 who moved to the UK with wife Portia de Rossi<\/strong> a year later \u2014 \u201centered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign,\u201d which resulted in her car being \u201ct-boned\u201d by DeGeneres.<\/p>\n The lawsuit states that the Emmy Award winner displayed \u201cnegligent conduct [that] fell below the standard of care of a reasonable person,\u201d adding that DeGeneres \u201cnegligently caused, or contributed to causing plaintiff\u2019s vehicle to be collided with by the defendants\u2019 vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n The woman also claims she suffered \u201cmultiple serious personal injuries and damages\u201d as well as \u201closs of enjoyment of life, emotional distress and anxiety.\u201d<\/p>\n DeGeneres \u2014 who faced accusations that her eponymous talk show was a toxic workplace \u2014 has been facing criticism once again,<\/a> as a former cameraman who worked on her hit talk show told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> in August that she was \u201cterrifying\u201d when the cameras stopped rolling.<\/p>\n Additionally, last week, Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong> recalled on a podcast how DeGeneres claimed they weren\u2019t friends<\/a> on Larry King Live<\/em> in 2004.
