Margot Robbie<\/a> has revealed the surprising reason why she would have to turn down Kylie Minogue<\/a>\u2019s wish for her to play her in a movie<\/a> about her life.<\/p>\n

Appearing on BBC Radio 2\u2019s Breakfast Show with Scott Mills on Monday alongside Colin Farrell<\/a>, Robbie was blindsided when she learned that the pop superstar had publicly named her as her dream casting.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know Kylie has said a few times that she would love you to play her in a movie,\u201d Mills told the Barbie actress.<\/p>\n

Robbie gasped: \u201cShe did not?! Why has nobody ever told me this before?! That is wild information!\u201d<\/p>\n

Pressed on whether she would consider it, Robbie \u2013 who like Minogue, originally got her big break on Aussie soap Neighbours<\/a> \u2013 admitted she was \u201cbeyond honoured\u201d but explained she couldn\u2019t take the role.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I could not, I can\u2019t sing \u2013 I can\u2019t sing like Kylie. I don\u2019t like it when people can\u2019t actually sing and do a singing movie, you know,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The Australian actress also revealed her long-standing admiration for the star, saying the first ever concert she attended was Minogue\u2019s KylieFever tour in Sydney. She recalled recently meeting the singer for the first time over cocktails, describing her as \u201cthe warmest and coolest person ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Farrell then quoted an online article to back up Mills\u2019 revelation: \u201cKylie says Margot Robbie is her dream choice to play her in a hypothetical movie about her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Farrell offered a more unexpected confession \u2013 that he was once scouted by Louis Walsh to join Boyzone. The Irish actor said he was approached in a Dublin nightclub in the 1990s while wearing \u201cleather pants and a rubber t-shirt,\u201d before auditioning with a rendition of Careless Whisper.<\/p>\n

Walsh later called his family home to say \u201cit\u2019s not going to work,\u201d but Farrell laughed it off, adding: \u201cIt worked out for everyone!\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie and Farrell are currently promoting their new film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, with Farrell praising her as \u201ctruly one of the best actors of our time.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the film\u2019s London premiere<\/a> last week, Robbie admitted she celebrated in suitably low-key fashion \u2013 with karaoke until 1am in London\u2019s Chinatown, belting out Celine Dion classics.<\/p>\n

An interesting choice given her earlier insistence she couldn\u2019t possibly take on Kylie\u2019s life story because she \u201ccan\u2019t sing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
