Legendary actor, director and icon of American cinema Robert Redford<\/a> died Tuesday at age 89.<\/p>\n His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from Hollywood stars including Meryl Streep, Scarlett Johansson, Marlee Matlin, Ron Howard and others.<\/p>\n Redford\u2019s rep confirmed the beloved actor\u2019s death to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n Robert Redford Dead At 89<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Robert Redford passed away on Sept. 16.<\/p>\n “Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah \u2013 the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved,” a representative shared in a statement. “He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy.”<\/p>\n Barbra Streisand, who starred opposite Redford in “The Way We Were,” remembered both the on-screen chemistry and the off-screen connection they shared.<\/p>\n Read On The Fox News App<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n “Every day on the set of \u2018The Way We Were\u2019 was exciting, intense and pure joy,” Streisand said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “We were such opposites: he was from the world of horses; I was allergic to them!
