A judge on Tuesday threw out Harvey Weinstein<\/a>\u2019s lawsuit against Irwin Reiter, the head of accounting at the Weinstein Co. who blew the whistle on him in 2017.<\/p>\n

Weinstein sued Reiter, his brother Bob and former COO<\/a> David Glasser<\/a> earlier this year, accusing them of a \u201cfinancial betrayal\u201d that contributed to the downfall of the company.<\/p>\n

Judge Joel M. Cohen<\/a> dismissed the suit against Reiter, finding that Weinstein was using it to try to punish someone who had spoken out against him.<\/p>\n

Reiter was a key source for Jodi Kantor<\/a> and Megan Twohey<\/a>, the New York Times reporters who revealed Weinstein\u2019s pattern of sexual harassment complaints and settlements in October 2017.<\/p>\n

As the Weinstein Co. was collapsing in the wake of those revelations, Len Blavatnik<\/a>\u2019s company, AI International Holdings, sued Weinstein to try to recover a $45 million personal guarantee.<\/p>\n
