The funnymen behind the 2001 comedy classic \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d took a break from filming the sequel \u201cSuper Troopers 3\u201d to catch a Red Sox game at Fenway Park on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe \u2014 Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske \u2014 joined frequent collaborator (and Boston native) Nat Faxon to watch the Red Sox defeat the Yankees, 6-4.<\/p>\n

Broken Lizard, best known for \u201cSuper Troopers,\u201d \u201cBeerfest,\u201d and the sitcom \u201cTacoma FD,\u201d officially announced that \u201cSuper Troopers 3\u201d had begun production<\/a> on August 20.<\/p>\n

For those who haven\u2019t seen it, \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d concerns a group of prank-pulling<\/a>, syrup-chugging<\/a> highway patrolmen in the fictional town of Spurbury, Vermont. Under the command of the gruff Chief Grady (Brian Cox, \u201cSuccession\u201d), the shenanigans-loving<\/a> troopers face the prospect of losing their jobs due to budget cuts before uncovering a massive drug conspiracy.<\/p>\n

For the 2018 sequel \u201cSuper Troopers 2,\u201d Broken Lizard used Massachusetts as a stand-in for Vermont. Chandrasekhar primarily filmed scenes<\/a> in Belchertown, and also used Acton, Concord, Groton, Hopkinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Southborough, and Sudbury.<\/p>\n

Based on behind-the-scenes videos posted by Broken Lizard on Instagram, it\u2019s hard to say for sure where exactly \u201cSuper Troopers 3\u201d is being filmed \u2014 and Fox Searchlight did not respond to a request for comment. But based on the number of Boston-based film production professionals currently working on the movie<\/a>, it appears highly likely that \u201cSuper Trooper 3\u201d is filming somewhere in (or near) the Bay State.<\/p>\n

Along with the Broken Lizard quintet, both Cox and Marisa Coughlan will reprise their roles from the first two \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d films in \u201cST3.\u201d Also joining the cast for the new entry are Faxon, Andrew Dismukes (\u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d), Chace Crawford (\u201cI Feel Pretty\u201d), and Rory Scovel (\u201cI Feel Pretty\u201d).<\/p>\n
