John Oliver<\/a> on Monday pitched how the Emmys<\/a> could have handled the much-anticipated presentation of the award for Outstanding Talk Series, which fellow late-night comedian Stephen Colbert<\/a> won months after CBS<\/a> canceled his show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI will say this \u2014 I know we wanted him to win. The right thing to happen was for him to win. The funniest thing to happen would have been if you had won,\u201d quipped Oliver in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>, who advocated for Colbert to win<\/a> in the lead-up to the award show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYou\u2019re right,\u201d Kimmel replied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMost of me wanted him to win, a part of me \u2014 the part of me that I like more \u2014 just wanted to see your face go, \u2018Oh no! Not like this,\u2019\u201d Oliver joked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kimmel revealed that a driver for one of his writers used ChatGPT to search who took home the Emmy and, when the AI platform inaccurately informed him that his show won, questioned if the platform knew something he didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh shit!
