Collins highlighted Trump\u2019s lack of response to the lawmaker\u2019s death \u2015 versus how he\u2019s honored slain podcaster Charlie Kirk \u2015 during her celebrity.land show on Monday.<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have thought of that. But I would have if somebody had asked me,\u201d Trump said while speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday. \u201cHad the governor of Minnesota asked me to do that, I would have done that gladly.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Back in her show, Collins quickly contradicted Trump\u2019s answer about speaking with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The reporter then showed footage that showed that she\u2019d asked Trump about lowering flags in June after the assassination, and he gave a completely different answer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out. I\u2019m not calling him,\u201d Trump told Collins while on Air Force One in June. \u201cWhy would I call him? I could call and say, \u2018Hi, how you doing?\u2019 The guy doesn\u2019t have a clue. He\u2019s a mess. I could be nice and call, but why waste time?\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump has taken an entirely different approach to mourning Kirk, who was an ardent supporter of the president. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
