(KCTV) &#8211; Carter Jensen watched Royals players hit home runs at Kauffman Stadium when he was two years old.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tuesday, 22 years later, the Kansas City native hit one of his own at the K \u2014 about 20 miles from his own backyard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It happened in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Royals\u2019 series opener against the Seattle Mariners. The club called him up from Triple-A Omaha two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The home run was hit to the opposite field, landing in the opposing bullpen to cut the Royals\u2019 deficit to 9-1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In the sixth inning, Jensen delivered his second career home run. The 2-run home run landed in the right field corner seats to make it a 10-3 game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jensen joined fellow rookie Jac Caglianone among the few Royals in franchise history to have hit their first two home runs in the same game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jensen, the Royals\u2019 2021 third-round pick, also won the Royals\u2019 George Brett Hitter of the Year Award this year in AA\/AAA.
