Meredith Marks<\/a><\/strong> is coming to onetime frenemy Lisa Barlow<\/strong>‘s defense.<\/p>\n During the\u00a0Season 6 premiere<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0The Real Housewives<\/a>\u00a0of Salt Lake City<\/em>\u00a0on Tuesday, Sept. 16, cast member Angie Katsanevas<\/strong> calls out Barlow, 50, for skipping a girl’s getaway due to news involving some business legal issues she wanted to avoid discussing with the group. Katsanevas, 51, goes as far as to compare Barlow to former series regular Jen Shah<\/strong>, who is currently in federal prison for her involvement in conspiracy to commit wire fraud.<\/p>\n But Marks, 53, thinks Katsanevas’ comments were completely out of line.<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac<\/strong> SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox<\/strong><\/a> \ud83c\udfac<\/strong><\/p>\n “I didn’t know very much about these legal cases prior to that moment,” the Meredith Marks Caviar<\/a> owner exclusively tells Parade<\/em>. “I just knew they existed. Lisa had told me about it. I hadn’t read anything, so I couldn’t really speak very intelligently about the case itself because I didn’t know what they said. But what I do know is a civil case is very different from criminal charges. And, you know, this is an individual filing a lawsuit that, quite frankly, anyone can do.”<\/p>\n Barlow’s legal drama involving her businesses Vida Tequila and Luxe Marketing have been hot topic of discussions on the show with the ladies before, and this season appears to be no different. Cast member Bronwyn Newport<\/strong> tells the ladies she’s heard about “multiple issues” for Barlow, most likely referring to The Carlson Lawsuit in which her former friend, Bart Carlson<\/strong>, claims Barlow owes him well into the six figures for unpaid loans.<\/p>\n It’s important to note, that some of Barlow’s business lawsuits have already been dismissed.<\/p>\n Related: \u2018Real Housewives of Salt Lake City\u2019 Season 6 Trailer Finds Lisa Barlow in the Hot Seat<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n “I can sue anyone I want tomorrow, and it doesn’t make it true,” the DJ points out<\/a>. “It doesn’t mean that Lisa did anything wrong. You can lose a civil law suit and still not have done anything wrong. I mean, there are things that are up to disagreement, and it’s not that deep. So to compare a civil suit to a criminal suit, to me, is just so reaching. It doesn’t make sense. Maybe it’s just because I’m a lawyer and I understand it. I don’t know, it made no sense to me.”<\/p>\n
