Robert Redford\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> grandchildren took to social media to share sweet tributes to their grandpa following his death.<\/p>\n Shortly after his death on Tuesday, September 16, at the age of 89, Redford\u2019s grandson, Conor Schlosser<\/strong>, the son of Redford\u2019s daughter Shauna Redford<\/strong>, wrote an emotional Instagram post<\/a> in honor of his famous grandfather.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was larger than life to the world, but to his family, he was simply that\u2026family,\u201d Conor, 33, said. \u201cRest in peace, Grandpa. \ud83d\udc0eIf anyone has a favorite story of him you\u2019d like to share, please send it to me in a private massage\u2014I\u2019d love to collect them.\u201d<\/p>\n In Conor\u2019s post, he included several never-before-seen photos of the actor, including him sitting behind Conor while riding on a horse, Robert opening a gift while Conor sits next to him on the couch, the duo playing golf together when Conor was little and a couple snaps of Conor all-grown-up with his grandfather.<\/p>\n Another one of Robert\u2019s grandchildren, Lena Redford<\/strong>, the daughter of the late David James \u201cJamie\u201d Redford<\/strong>, also shared rare pictures of her grandpa in an Instagram post<\/a>.<\/p>\n The first photo, similar to Conor\u2019s, showed Robert behind Lena, now 29, on a horse, while the second included her brother, Dylan Redford<\/strong>, and her on a set that Robert was seemingly directing. The last photos included a throw-back memory of Robert smiling while hugging Lena, a picture of Lena with Robert and his wife, Sibylle Szaggars Redford<\/strong>, and a photo of her, her dad and Robert.<\/p>\n The Oscar winning actor and director died at his home in Utah<\/a> on Tuesday, according to a statement to The New York Times<\/em><\/a> from his publicist, Cindi Berger<\/strong>. His rep confirmed that he died in his sleep but did not provide a specific cause of death.<\/p>\n
