Fans of the Game of Thrones<\/a><\/em> television franchise have a big new reason to be excited, as it has officially been confirmed that the second spinoff series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/a><\/em>, is coming to HBO in January 2026.<\/p>\n The updated premiere date window was confirmed by HBO CEO Casey Bloys<\/strong> in a new interview with TheWrap<\/a><\/em> after the 2025 Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n During the conversation, the interviewer commented on the absence of any Game of Thrones<\/em> television shows in this year’s Emmys, saying, “This was the first awards season in a while where HBO didn\u2019t have a Game of Thrones<\/em> show in contention, and two are on the way for next.”<\/p>\n They then asked Bloys, “When can we expect those shows to arrive?”<\/p>\n Luckily for fans of the popular franchise, Bloys was able to provide an update for the second Game of Thrones<\/em> television spinoff, telling the publication, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/em> will be in January, and then House of the Dragon<\/a><\/em> will probably be just outside this Emmy cycle.” The latter half of the comment refers to the upcoming third season of the first spinoff series.<\/p>\n Bloys also briefly commented on his hopes for the success of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/em>, answering a question about his wishes for the 2026 Emmy Awards as he said, “I\u2019m hopeful [we] get some recognition for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/em>.”<\/p>\n “I\u2019m hopeful that we\u2019ll have a good year. Never count on anything \u2014 you never know which way it breaks with the Emmys, but I feel good about the slate that we\u2019ve got coming,” he went on.<\/p>\n A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/em> will premiere sometime in January, and the first season is expected to have six episodes. The show was originally supposed to premiere in late 2025, but it was delayed.<\/p>\n Like House of the Dragon<\/em>, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms<\/em> is also a prequel to the original series, Game of Thrones<\/em>.
