<\/story-highlights> Thousands of people are expected to flock to downtown Market Street this weekend for the annual Harvest Festival, featuring live music performances, hayrides, vendors and on-street dining.\u00a0<\/p>\n Throughout the free two-day event, Market Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for outdoor dining, live music, and on-street vending from small businesses and farmers market vendors.\u00a0<\/p>\n The impacted areas of Market Street will close at 1 p.m. Friday, until 10 p.m. Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHarvest is such a special event that kicks off one of the most beautiful times of year here in the Finger Lakes,\u201d said Emmie Agee, Director of Marketing & Communications for Corning\u2019s Gaffer District.\u00a0<\/p>\n Catherine Price, Gaffer District executive director, said Harvest Festival marks the unofficial start to the fall season in Corning’s Gaffer District.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe have over 140 vendors that offer an unusual selection of higher end crafts, with\u00a0more than 35 of them from the downtown district,\u201d Price said. \u201cWe have plenty of live music performances on each block, which we are excited about, hayrides, a scarecrow contest, pumpkin coloring and much more. The event really highlights how awesome downtown Corning is.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Terry Smith, owner of Brown\u2019s Cigar Store, on West Market Street, said the Harvest Festival always brings a great crowd, featuring lots of bands. Special this year is the unveiling of the Duane Eddy historic marker at 2 p.m. Saturday near Centerway Square, plus a lot of other activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n Eddy, who spent his early years in Corning, where he learned to play guitar, was an American guitarist who had a string of hit records in the late 1950s and early 1960s noted for their characteristically “twangy” guitar sound. \u00a0<\/p>\n Agee said with the Harvest Festival 2025 live music lineup, people should get ready for two days of toe-tapping, heart-thumping, crowd-cheering music as downtown Corning transforms into one big music stage across four blocks of Market Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI think Harvest Festival is great for the community for the eclectic music that gets played, especially in these crazy times right now,\u201d said Jessie Smith, a Corning resident and music lover. \u201cMusic always soothes the area and calms people down.
