Ozzy Osbourne and his family pull back the curtain on the final years of his life in the Paramount+ documentary OZZY: NO ESCAPE FROM NOW<\/a><\/em>, the first trailer for which is out now. The Tania Alexander-directed film will be released Oct. 7, less than three months after Osbourne\u2019s death<\/a> at the age of 76.<\/p>\n \u201cThe thing about getting old \u2014 I used to take pills for fun. Now I take them to stay alive,\u201d Osbourne says in the trailer for the doc, which spotlights his struggles with significant health problems and his efforts to get back into the recording studio and onto the live stage.<\/p>\n More from Spin:<\/p>\n Alexander began work on the documentary in early 2022 while Osbourne was making his Grammy-winning album\u00a0Patient Number 9<\/em> with producer Andrew Watt. She also captured the lead-up to Osbourne\u2019s final solo and Black Sabbath performances on July 5 in his hometown of Birmingham, England, which featured an array of the biggest names in hard rock and metal.<\/p>\n NO ESCAPE FROM NOW<\/em> is loaded with appearances from Black Sabbath\u2019s Tony Iommi, Guns N\u2019 Roses\u2019 Duff McKagan and Slash, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Tool\u2019s Maynard James Keenan, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and longtime Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde, among many others.<\/p>\n \u201cThis film is an honest account of what has happened to Ozzy during the last few years,\u201d his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne said previously. \u201cIt shows how hard things have been for him and the courage he has shown while dealing with a number of serious health issues, including Parkinson\u2019s. It\u2019s about the reality of his life now. We have worked with a production team we trust and have allowed them the freedom to tell the story openly. We hope that story will inspire people that are facing similar issues to Ozzy.\u201d<\/p>\n Also arriving on Oct. 7 is Osbourne\u2019s\u00a0second memoir<\/a>,\u00a0Last Rites<\/em>, which will be released by Grand Central Publishing\/Hachette Book Group.<\/p>\n
