Big things are coming for Survivor<\/a><\/strong>. The competition reality show is gearing up for an exciting Season 50 with some of the cast favorites over the years. Gayle King<\/a><\/strong> chatted with host Jeff Probst<\/a><\/strong> and asked him why the Season 50 lineup didn\u2019t include former winner and fan favorite Parvati Shallow<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Survivor\u2019s newest season is dropping this September<\/a>, but everyone is already looking ahead to Season 50. The landmark season is promising to be bigger and better. According to Jeff, it brings together fan favorites and returning castaways. But when the show revealed the cast list<\/a>, they notably left out some names.<\/p>\n Several fans wondered why Survivor alum and winner Parvati Shallow was not part of the Season 50 lineup. And she wasn\u2019t the only one, there were some Survivor 50 snubs<\/a> that people were looking for.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a lot of conversation about Parvati not being invited to Season 50,\u201d Gayle said to Jeff at the Emmys. \u201cEven when she was on our show, she seemed surprised that she wasn\u2019t invited.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s unfortunate that she really didn\u2019t know,\u201d Jeff answered. \u201cBut the truth was, if you\u2019re a Survivor fan, we had just done a season of all winners. And it had Parvati and Rob and Tony and all of these great players. And we just felt like we just saw them. Let\u2019s do something different for 50.\u201d<\/p>\n He further clarified, \u201cIt had nothing to do with Parvati being good or not good or Rob. Parvati just won Australia vs. The World. She\u2019s a dominant player.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI know she did, which is all the more reason why you think she would have been invited,\u201d Gayle replied.<\/p>\n \u201cWe only had a few spots,\u201d Jeff explained. \u201cAnd we\u2019ve had 750 people play.\u201d Jeff did mention how good Parvati was, and Gayle agreed.<\/p>\n For her part, Parvati did mention that she wouldn\u2019t be part of Survivor 50 and that she was pivoting from reality competition television<\/a>. However, she did comment on the video, thanking Gayle for having her back.<\/p>\n She commented, \u201cGayle is my hero!\u201d<\/p>\n Survivor<\/a>\u00a0Season 49 premieres Sept 24, 8pm ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
