The beloved star of TV classics “Taxi” and “Who’s the Boss?” Tony Danza<\/a> will show up with his four-piece band at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center to perform “Standards & Stories,” on Saturday, Nov. 22.<\/p>\n In his new live show, the TV music with humor, storytelling, singing and even playing the ukulele.<\/p>\n Danza performs favorite standards from the Great American Songbook<\/a> while interweaving stories about his life and personal connection to music.<\/p>\n For some of us, it might be a little difficult to picture the down-to-earth Italian-American dad and cab driver as a crooner.<\/p>\n Tony Danza performs “Standards & Stories,” on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center with all proceeds going to nonprofit New Beginnings.<\/p>\n Well, a New York Times’ review <\/a>of the cabaret-style show called Danza a “live wire who tap-dances, plays the ukulele, tells stories and radiates irresistible charm,” and Broadway World praised his voice and showmanship.<\/p>\n “This unforgettable night isn\u2019t just about great entertainment \u2014 it\u2019s about\u00a0transforming lives,” said New Beginnings<\/a>‘ media.<\/p>\n Just how did the nonprofit hook up with the TV star and his tour?<\/p>\n One of their donors, Dianne Garvis, who’s been active in helping children and cancer survivors in the community, helped make the connection.<\/p>\n Garvis got a hold of Danza’s manager and made the introductions.<\/p>\n “She was able to talk about New beginnings and what we’re doing, said New Beginnings’ Community Relations Manager Jeremy Elliott, “and he waived part of his fee to support us.”<\/p>\n All proceeds\u00a0from the event will go to Lake County-based organization that helps individuals rebuild their lives.<\/p>\n The Clermont Arts & Recreation Center is located at 3700 S U.S. 27, Clermont.
