Helado Negro<\/a> will release a new EP, The Last Sound on Earth<\/em><\/a>, on November 7. His debut release for Big Dada<\/a>, the five-song record is inspired by Roberto Carlos Lange<\/a>\u2019s reflection on the question of the last sound he will hear before he dies. Listen to \u201cMore,\u201d a song he\u2019s said is about \u201cthe day-to-day push and pull that can lead to being overwhelmed with more of everything,\u201d below.<\/p>\n Lange added in press materials, \u201cWhen I wake up in the morning, I can listen to my ears tuning-in to the world around me. It feels like a blanket being pulled off my eardrums.\u201d He continued, \u201cI was watching Michael Snow\u2019s Wavelength (in increments) while working on these songs and the room for interpretation of what I saw and heard felt large. Every time I watched it carved a new emotion out of me. Despair, hope and inspiration. I wanted to ask more of listeners, to want to take time\u2014not just pause, but ask yourself can you untangle all of the mess and try again.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cMore\u201d lyric video is directed and animated by Annapurna Kumar<\/a>, who said, \u201cThe central metaphor of this video, the origami heart, represents a person processing their emotions. By focusing on a simple physical task like folding, the inner mind is freed to meditate subconsciously. I wanted to depict the mindset of someone who is a little bit overwhelmed by fleeting thoughts, but working to channel them into something positive.\u201d<\/p>\n Helado Negro released the album Phasor<\/em><\/a> in February of last year.<\/p>\n
