\n\tIn partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures, Fathom Entertainment will release \u201cThe Family McMullen<\/a>\u201d in theaters nationwide for one night on Oct. 15.<\/p>\n \n\tWritten and directed by Edward Burns<\/a>, \u201cThe Family McMullen\u201d takes place 30 years after the original indie hit \u201cThe Brothers McMullen<\/a>\u201d premiered in 1995. \u201cThe Brothers McMullen\u201d explored the lives and struggles of three Irish American brothers from New York.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe Family McMullen\u201d stars Connie Britton (\u201cFriday Night Lights,\u201d \u201cAmerican Horror Story,\u201d \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d) and Michael McGlone (\u201cShe\u2019s the One,\u201d \u201cThe Bone Collector\u201d),\u00a0reprising their roles from \u201cThe Brothers McMullen,\u201d alongside Tracee Ellis Ross (\u201cAmerican Fiction,\u201d \u201cBlack-ish\u201d), Juliana Canfield (\u201cSuccession\u201d), Pico Alexander (\u201cHome Again,\u201d \u201cGossip Girl\u201d), Brian d\u2019Arcy James (\u201cSpotlight\u201d) and Halston Sage (\u201cX-Men: Dark Phoenix,\u201d \u201cProdigal Son\u201d).<\/p>\n \n\tThe sequel \u201ctracks the romantic entanglements of a now 50something Barry McMullen (Burns) and his 20something kids, as well as his brother Patrick (McGlone) and widowed sister-in-law Molly (Britton), who are also facing unexpected romantic hurdles,\u201d according to the synopsis.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited to be working with Warner Bros. and Fathom Entertainment to bring these characters back to the big screen,\u201d said Burns. \u201cMy hope in re-exploring the McMullen clan was to make another film that would put a smile on the audience\u2019s face and remind moviegoers that home isn\u2019t just a place, it\u2019s the people you share it with.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe New Hampshire Film Festival Sets Screenings for \u2018Jay Kelly,\u2019 \u2018Blue Moon,\u2019 \u2018Arco\u2019 and More in Packed Lineup<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tThe 23rd Annual New Hampshire Film Festival has announced the selection of over 100 independent films that will be screened at the four-day event in Portsmouth, N.H., from Oct. 16 to Oct. 19<\/p>\n \n\tThe films that will be shown during the festival include Noah Baumbach\u2019s \u201cJay Kelly,\u201d which stars George Clooney and Adam Sandler; Richard Linklater\u2019s \u201cBlue Moon\u201d starring Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley and Andrew Scott; \u201cIt Was Just an Accident;\u201d \u201cThe Secret Agent;\u201d \u201cSir\u00e2t;\u201d \u201cSound of Falling;\u201d \u201cLove+War;\u201d \u201cBest Boy;\u201d \u201cSupernatural;\u201d the animated feature \u201cArco\u201d with voices from Natalie Portman, Will Ferrell, Mark Ruffalo, America Ferrera and Andy Samberg; \u201cOur Hero, Balthazar\u201d and \u201cThe Travel Companion.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe lineup includes 32 narrative features, 19 documentary features and 65 shorts, curated from more than 1,700 submissions.<\/p>\n \n\tThis year\u2019s festival will also feature a slate of panels and workshops, such as \u201cEthics of Artificial Intelligence: A Discussion & Debate,\u201d \u201cAcross the Table: A Conversation with Jessica Kingdon and Courtney Stephens,\u201d \u201cMorning Coffee with 2025 NHFF Filmmakers and Special Guests\u201d and \u201cVirtual Production: An Immersive Demonstration & Experience.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAdditional panels include \u201cInspiring Images: Addressing the Challenges of Filmmaking,\u201d \u201cThe Move from Making Shorts to Features (and Sometimes Back Again),\u201d \u201cLook Up in the Sky: Welcoming You into the World of Aerial Drones,\u201d \u201cA Chat about Independent Financing, Festivals and Distribution\u201d and \u201cThe Comedy Panel with Eliza Coupe.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe event will also feature a new collaboration with Studio Lab, a Derry, New Hampshire-based production facility for creative professionals that specializes in cutting-edge technology that\u2019s reshaping film and content creation.
