Platonic, the Apple TV+ series starring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen as slightly maladjusted best friends, returned this summer after two years. The sharply funny show, which was created by husband-and-wife team Francesca Delbanco and Nick Stoller (who directed Rogen and Byrne in Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), improved on the first season and gained new fans and praise for the performances, particularly from Byrne.<\/p>\n

Katrina Marcinowski<\/span><\/p>\n That remains to be seen. The show was originally designed to be an anthology series, with different casts each season. The plan changed during the first season, when Delbanco and Stoller were too in love with Byrne and Rogen to have their story end so soon.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have such amazing chemistry together, and it was such a great experience, that we decided to ask them if they would be open to doing more, and they said yes,\u201d Stoller said to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. \u201cAnd Apple, rightly so, felt like they were the show\u2019s identity. I remember they said, \u2018Who is going to want to watch a season two without them?’\u201d<\/p>\n There has been no announcement about Platonic\u2019s future but Rogen, who also stars on the Apple TV+ series The Studio<\/a>, has indicated he\u2019d be up for a season 3, telling Decider<\/a>,\u201cI would love to keep doing Platonic. I think there are really great storylines for the season.
