Paul Walter Hauser<\/a> is joining the cast of director Zach Cregger<\/a>\u2019s new Resident Evil<\/a> movie.<\/p>\n

The busy actor, who appeared this summer in such films as Naked Gun<\/a> and The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/a>, will star alongside previously confirmed castmember Austin Abrams<\/a> in Sony Pictures\u2019 new take on the franchise. The feature hits theaters Sept. 18, 2026, and adapts the popular video game series about an elite task force battling zombies.<\/p>\n

Cregger, who had a hit this summer with Warner Bros.<\/a>\u2019 Weapons, will helm Resident Evil<\/a> from a script he is co-writing with Shay Hatten<\/a>. Plot details have not yet been disclosed for the project that hails from Constantin Film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Producers include Robert Kulzer<\/a> for Constantin Film, Roy Lee<\/a> for Vertigo Entertainment<\/a> and Asad Qizilbash<\/a> and Carter Swan<\/a> for PlayStation Productions<\/a>. TriStar Pictures<\/a> president Nicole Brown<\/a> oversees the movie for the studio.<\/p>\n
