She played nurse Shirley Daniels<\/a> on St. Elsewhere<\/a>.<\/p>\n Masius, who started out in the early 1980s on the CBS<\/a> drama The White Shadow<\/a>, also created the 2009-11 TNT<\/a> medical show Hawthorne<\/a>, starring Jada Pinkett Smith<\/a> and Michael Vartan<\/a>, and he also wrote and\/or produced for NBC<\/a>\u2019s L.A. Law<\/a> and Showtime\u2019s Dead Like Me<\/a> during his long career.<\/p>\n With frequent collaborator Mark Tinker<\/a>, Masius developed NBC\u2019s St. Elsewhere<\/a>, set at a fictional Boston hospital.
