Vernon Sanders<\/a>, the head of TV for Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>, is exiting the company.<\/p>\n

Sanders<\/a> shared his decision in a note to staff Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout my tenure, the company has repeatedly entrusted me with expanded responsibilities and new challenges,\u201d Sanders wrote to staff. \u201cWhile I have been deeply honored by that growth in scope, I\u2019ve found myself increasingly distant from what originally drew me to this industry \u2013 the day-to-day creative process of making television. Earlier this summer, I made the decision to return to those creative roots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sanders joined Amazon Studios<\/a> in 2018 from NBC<\/a>, reuniting with his former colleague Jen Salke<\/a>, who had been tapped to lead the tech giant\u2019s entertainment division. Salke exited Amazon MGM Studios earlier this year, launching a new production company with a first-look deal with the studio.<\/p>\n
