Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night show was pulled off the air indefinitely by ABC because of comments he made about the killing of Charlie Kirk, according to CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n The announcement was made after the head of the Federal Communications Commission<\/a> suggested ABC\u2019s broadcast license was at risk, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n The network\u2019s decision on Wednesday came after Nexstar announced its ABC affiliates would preempt \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d indefinitely over his comments.<\/p>\n In his monologue on Tuesday, Kimmel said that \u201cwe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMr. Kimmel\u2019s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,\u201d Andrew Alford, President of Nexstar\u2019s broadcasting division, told The Associated Press.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for Kimmel did not immediately return a call for comment.<\/p>\n Kimmel, like CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert, has consistently been critical of President Donald Trump and many of his policies on his ABC show, according to AP.
