Guns N\u2019 Roses guitarist Slash<\/strong> announced Tuesday he\u2019ll release a live album and concert film, Slash: Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival<\/em>.<\/a> The iconic \u201990s rocker teased the new live album and concert film by releasing the album\u2019s first video, a cover of Fleetwood Mac\u2019s<\/a> “Oh Well.”<\/p>\n The album and concert footage were recorded in July 2024 at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado, during Slash\u2019s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. (Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N\u2019 Tolerance) tour.<\/a><\/p>\n Related: Guns N’ Roses Posts Hilarious Compilation Of Axl Rose Falling Onstage<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n With the announcement came the first video from the album, an epic cover of “Oh Well.” The cover of the Peter Green<\/strong>-era hit features Slash and his Blues Hall band, which includes Teddy \u201cZigZag\u201d Andreadis<\/strong> on keyboards, harmonica, and vocals; Tash Neal<\/strong> on rhythm guitar and vocals; Johnny Griparic <\/strong>on bass and backing vocals; and drummer Michael Jerome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “The blues has always functioned as a release for people that are having hard times \u2013 both the people playing it and the people listening to it. And unfortunately, I think a lot of people are having a hard time these days,” Slash told Classic Rock Magazine<\/a><\/em> last year.<\/p>\n Slash: Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival<\/em> will be released on November 7 on 2CD+DVD digipak, 2CD+Blu-ray digipak, and on triple LP via earMusic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The concert film features behind-the-scenes interviews and footage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n When Guns N\u2019 Roses’ Appetite for Destruction<\/a><\/em> was released in 1987, mainstream rock music was mostly dominated by pop-heavy sounds. Slash\u2019s aggressive, grittier tone\u2014drawing on influences from the blues\u2014added an authentic edge that came to define early \u201990s rock.<\/p>\n Guns N\u2019 Roses\u2019 sound was as defined by Slash\u2019s guitar work as it was by lead singer Axl Rose\u2019s<\/strong> high-pitched screams. Slash continues to be a force in mainstream rock, recently joining The Black Crowes onstage for the FireAid concert in Los Angeles<\/a>, as well as performing with \u201970s icon John Fogerty <\/strong>the same evening.<\/p>\n Rockers from Creed\u2019s Mark Tremonti<\/a><\/strong> to Myles Kennedy<\/strong> of Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators have acknowledged Slash\u2019s influence.
