A movie sequel to The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/strong> is in development. Amazon Prime Video has announced the news after the hit show\u2019s season 3 finale began streaming on the platform. Created by Jenny Han from her namesake novel trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty debuted on June 17, 2022.<\/p>\n Seasons 2 and 3 subsequently came out on July 14, 2023, and July 16, 2025. While it was previously announced that the third season would also be the show\u2019s last and that there would not be a Season 4, the story will now conclude with a feature-length sequel.<\/p>\n Amazon Prime Video revealed plans for the movie sequel at the show\u2019s finale red carpet celebration in Paris, France. Han will direct the project from a screenplay she penned with Sarah Kucserka.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is another big milestone left in Belly\u2019s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,\u201d Han said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans\u201d (via Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>).<\/p>\n In a joint statement, Courtenay Valenti, who serves as the head of film, streaming, and theatrical at Amazon MGM Studios, and Vernon Sanders, who is the Global Head of Television at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, noted that the series \u201chas struck a chord with audiences everywhere, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that have made it a global sensation.\u201d<\/p>\n In the Season 3 finale, Lola Tung\u2019s Belly Conklin reconciles with Christopher Briney\u2019s Conrad Fisher. The last scene of the finale shows Belly returning to the Cousins Beach house with Conrad.
