You have no doubt heard by now that the late night talk show, \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live\u201d has been suspended<\/a> indefinitely by the Disney-owned network ABC, ostensibly over comments Kimmel made about the shooting death of Charlie Kirk during his opening monologue on Monday.<\/p>\n But what exactly did Kimmel say about Kirk that resulted in the show getting kicked off the air? <\/p>\n If you haven\u2019t seen the episode, it might surprise you to know that Kimmel\u2019s remarks had nothing to do directly with Kirk but instead were aimed squarely at President Trump.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel said during the monologue.<\/p>\n \u201cIn between the finger pointing there was grieving. On Friday the White House flew the flags at half-staff which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this.\u201d <\/p>\n The show then cut to a reporter asking Trump<\/a> how he was dealing with Kirk\u2019s death and the president pivoting to talking about the new ballroom being built at the White House.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s at the fourth stage of grief, construction,\u201d Kimmel quipped. \u201cThis is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone they called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel also showed a different clip of Trump on Fox News changing the subject about Kirk\u2019s death to the ballroom.<\/p>\n ABC\u2019s decision to suspend Kimmel\u2019s show came shortly after Nextstar, one of the largest television station owners in the U.S., said that it planned to pre-empt Kimmel\u2019s show from its ABC-affiliated stations due to Kimmel\u2019s comments. <\/p>\n Charlie Kirk was gunned down on Sept. 10 as he spoke with students at a Utah university. He died soon after.
