[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for\u00a0NCIS: Tony & Ziva<\/em><\/a> Season 1 Episode 5 \u201cTo Be Determined.\u201d]<\/strong><\/p>\n Does Tony (Michael Weatherly<\/a>) have Sam Hanna (NCIS: LA<\/em><\/a>\u2018s LL COOL J<\/a>) on speed dial (sort of)? The Thursday, September 18, episode of\u00a0NCIS: Tony & Ziva<\/em> does see the former NCIS agent, now on the run with his ex-fianc\u00e9e Ziva (Cote de Pablo<\/a>), mention reaching out to a Navy SEAL for help. But was that a reference to Sam?<\/p>\n In \u201cTo Be Determined,\u201d Tony and Ziva, while thinking they\u2019re breaking into a prison to extricate Interpol\u2019s Secretary General Jonah (Julian Ovenden<\/a>) end up in hot water and in a cell of their own; Jonah\u2019s really working with Martine (Nassima Benchicou<\/a>). Once Claudette (Amita Suman<\/a>), Boris (Maximilian Osinski<\/a>), and Fruzsi (Anne-Marie Waldeck) decipher the code that Tony manages to send before they lose their comms, they remove all the tags that allow them to be tracked around the prison, and then Tony and Ziva break out of the cell. As they hide from the guards, Tony remarks that he met a Navy SEAL once who owes him $5 and wonders if he\u2019d consider an exfil before answering his own question with a no.<\/p>\n So was that a reference to Sam Hanna, whom Tony knows from Weatherly\u2019s crossover to\u00a0NCIS: Los Angeles<\/a><\/em> back in its seventh season? TV Insider had to ask showrunner John McNamara<\/a> just that.<\/p>\n \u201cSam Hanna, deep cut! No, it\u2019s not Sam. Or anyone from the NCIS<\/em>verse. But since he and Tony <\/span>know each other, maybe Sam introduced them?\u201d McNamara said of the SEAL.\u201dI\u2019d never made that connection, honestly \u2014 but you win NCIS<\/em> Trivia Night.\u201d<\/p>\n Tony does end up reaching out to Henry (James D\u2019Arcy<\/a>), his friend at Interpol who he had come around to thinking could be dirty and working with Martine \u2014 as Ziva had \u2014 and he was right to trust him. Henry was a good guy, but he was killed by Jonah<\/a> during their escape when he sent Tony and Ziva ahead to save Tali (Isla Gie) after the parents received a worrying message from their daughter.<\/p>\n
