The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em><\/a> fans will have to wait a little bit to see their favorite characters return to the small screen.<\/p>\n Creator Jenny Han<\/a> and the cast of the Prime Video series opened up about the show\u2019s Season 3 finale on the Thursday, September 18, episode<\/a>\u00a0of Today<\/a><\/em>, as well as spilled details about the upcoming wrap-up movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThose of us who know the books very well know that there was a wedding at the end of the third book,\u201d Savannah Guthrie<\/a> asked, referring to how Belly (Lola Tung<\/a>) and Conrad (Christopher Briney<\/a>) go on to tie the knot in the book series. \u201cWe did not get our wedding in the series finale. Do we get a wedding in the movie?\u201d<\/p>\n Han neither confirmed nor denied whether fans will get to see Belly walk down the aisle in the upcoming film. \u201cI can say that there is another big milestone for Belly, so we\u2019ll continue with that journey,\u201d she teased, though Guthrie took her answer as a \u201cyes.\u201d<\/p>\n Han continued, \u201cIt\u2019s still a little too soon to say. But Sarah Kucserka, who\u2019s my co-showrunner, and I have finished a draft, so we\u2019re chugging along.\u201d<\/p>\n Later in the interview, Craig Melvin<\/a> asked whether the movie will premiere in 2026. \u201cWe don\u2019t know when it\u2019s coming out, but not next year,\u201d Han clarified. \u201cWe still have to make it.\u201d<\/p>\n TSITP<\/em> wrapped up its three-season-long love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno<\/a>) on Wednesday, September 17. The episode<\/a> saw Conrad finally reunite with Belly in Paris several months after her failed wedding to Jeremiah. Though the exes had a post-hookup argument over their relationship history, Belly chased down Conrad and confessed her love for him on a train.<\/p>\n The finale ended with Belly and Conrad returning to the Cousins Beach house as a couple. Jeremiah, meanwhile, sparked a new romantic connection with his former coworker, Denise (Isabella Briggs).<\/p>\n For Briney, he was not surprised that Belly\u2019s romantic endgame with Conrad was not changed from the books.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I first found out that I got the job, I read all the books, and I was like, \u2018Alright. This is the arc, start to finish, of this character and these characters,’\u201d he explained on Today<\/em>, noting that he didn\u2019t know for sure about Conrad\u2019s show fate until a month before shooting the finale. \u201cI always had a feeling that that\u2019s how it was gonna go.\u201d<\/p>\n
