How will the 118 cope without its captain<\/a>, Bobby Nash (Peter Krause<\/a>), in\u00a09-1-1<\/a> Season 9? That\u2019s a question on the minds of fans\u00a0and cast members alike ahead of the Thursday, October 9, premiere. In fact, when the stars shared what they\u2019re looking forward to in the upcoming season from the set, that was the topic for quite a few of them.<\/p>\n Oliver Stark<\/a> (Buck) shared that he\u2019s looking forward to seeing \u201chow the 118 restructures itself in a world post-Captain Nash,\u201d while Tracie Thoms<\/a> (Karen) wonders \u201chow this family gels and copes with losing our heart, our center\u201d and Corinne Massiah<\/a> (May) points out that navigating their grief \u201ccan either bring us really close together or make us drift farther apart.\u201d<\/p>\n Aisha Hinds<\/a> (Hen) is looking forward to seeing how things shift in terms of old, new, and \u201cold-new\u201d characters meshing. Jennifer Love Hewitt<\/a> pointed to the \u201cfun 9-1-1 calls,\u201d which her character, Maddie, handles as dispatcher. And Ryan Guzman<\/a> (Eddie) said something that fans have been asking for for years with his fingers crossed: \u201cWorking with Maddie. Please, just make it happen. Please.\u201d Could this be a sign that one is coming?<\/p>\n Anirudh Pisharody<\/a> (Ravi) teased \u201csome out of this world episodes coming your way,\u201d which is an apt description, given the promos<\/a> have been teasing meteors heading for Los Angeles.<\/p>\n Watch the video above for more from the cast, including Kenneth Choi<\/a>\u2018s amusing response.<\/p>\n 9-1-1 has had the same main cast since Season 2 \u2014 Peter Krause\u2019s exit with Bobby\u2019s death was the first since then \u2014 and so it\u2019s been noticeable that Maddie and Eddie haven\u2019t interacted, especially since she\u2019s Buck\u2019s sister and he\u2019s Buck\u2019s best friend. Both actors have told TV Insider they want to see that change.<\/p>\n \u201cI need that. Maddie and Eddie need to hang out a little bit more,\u201d Guzman told us while discussing Season 8 Episode 6<\/a> in November 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like Maddie and Eddie would have so much to bond on in both having lost spouses, in having troubled marriages, in being parents, and just being complicated people with triggers and trauma and all of that stuff,\u201d Hewitt said<\/a> in May 2024. I feel like Maddie would be a good person for Eddie to have in his life. I just don\u2019t know that they\u2019ve figured out how to seamlessly do that yet, but I hope it\u2019s coming. I adore Ryan, so I really hope that it\u2019s coming. It would be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
