More from TheWrap<\/strong><\/p>\n During Monday\u2019s edition of \u201cJKL,\u201d the comedian addressed Kirk\u2019s assassination and told his viewers, \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The ABC host additionally criticized President Trump\u2019s response to a question about Kirk\u2019s death, joking, \u201cThis is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel\u2019s comments provoked outrage from Trump\u2019s supporters and members of the president\u2019s administration. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened to take action if nothing was done, which led to Nexstar pulling Kimmel off the air on its ABC affiliated stations. Sinclair, a station group known for its conservative political leanings, followed suit by announcing that it would also not carry \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d on its 30 ABC affiliates until further notice.<\/p>\n Disney, ABC\u2019s parent company, then suspended Kimmel indefinitely.
