KANSAS CITY, Kan. \u2014 Fans of art and 1990s-themed movie theaters will soon get to experience a new attraction opening in the Kansas City area this fall.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s called Atlas9<\/strong><\/a>, and it all takes place inside a 46,000-square-foot fictitious movie theater complex. This \u201cimmersive art destination\u201d is set to open to the public Sept. 25 in Kansas City, Kansas.<\/p>\n

Visitors are invited to explore \u201cforgotten films\u201d of the 90s that have come to life.<\/p>\n

Atlas9 features several installations, performers, an arcade, pizza parlor, concessions stand, jazz club and speakeasy, as well as a 240-seat auditorium.<\/p>\n

The art experience was developed by Dimensional Innovations in partnership with Homefield, and is made possible with radio frequency identification technology<\/strong><\/a>, live performances by Quixotic and \u201cmulti-sensory storytelling,\u201d according to a news release.<\/p>\n

\u201cTech wearables,\u201d its website says, \u201cwill allow guests to interact with the environment in unique and unexpected ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Atlas9 is located off State Avenue at 1100 N. 98th St. in Kansas City, Kansas. After the grand opening on Sept. 25, it will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays through Saturdays from noon to 11 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets<\/strong><\/a> are available on the Atlas9 website and cost $40 per adult and $30 per child, ages 3 to 12. Children ages 2 and under can get in free.<\/p>\n

For residents of Wyandotte County, tickets are $35 per adult and $25 per child. Special rates are also being offered for teachers, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, active military members and veterans.<\/p>\n
