Wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, Pitt \u2014 who is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend and beating her at his Brooklyn home \u2014 insisted that if the reporter wanted to talk about the case, she should \u201ccome over\u201d to his pad. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you want to come over to my house, and have a conversation, officially, you\u2019re the celebrity.land, you can come to my house, I\u2019m inviting you there,\u201d he droned. \u201cYou can come there and have a conversation with me, you should have done that before.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cBoardwalk Empire\u201d actor Michael Pitt appears in Brooklyn Supreme Court for a hearing Thursday. He then pressed the reporter with personal questions about where she was from and her education \u2014 while holding a cellphone up to her face and recording the interaction, until his attorney ushered him into the courtroom.<\/p>\n
Pitt, who also starred on TV\u2019s \u201cDawson\u2019s Creek,\u201d was arrested in May for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend multiple times at his Bushwick home.<\/p>\n
During Thursday\u2019s hearing, Pitt\u2019s attorney, Robert Gottlieb, filed a motion with the court to get access to the victim\u2019s phone in an effort to dismiss the criminal sex act charges in the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is in fact innocent,\u201d Gottlieb insisted.<\/p>\n
Pitt \u2014 who played half of a killer duo opposite Ryan Gosling in 2002\u2019s \u201cMurder by Numbers\u201d \u2014 was also joined by an unidentified woman as he showed up to court, dressed in a black suit jacket and a linen white shirt.<\/p>\nMichael Pitt bizarrely invited a Post reporter to interview at his home before the hearing. He\u2019d initially been placed on supervision earlier this year at his arraignment on a nine-count indictment including first-degree sexual abuse, criminal sexual acts, assault, strangulation and other charges.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors accused Pitt of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in four separate violent attacks between April 2020 and August 2021.<\/p>\nMichael Pitt has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Gabriella Bass<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nIn one alleged incident, he is accused of forcibly fondling the victim and then three months later, sexually assaulting her and beating her with a 4-inch-by-4-inch piece of wood.<\/p>\n
In a separate occasion in June 2021, prosecutors alleged Pitt attacked the victim with a cinderblock.<\/p>\n
Pitt maintains his innocence and has pleaded not-guilty to all the charges.<\/p>\n
His attorney said during the hearing that the New Jersey native has been \u201cworking on multiple projects\u201d in Italy and \u201cthroughout Europe, different films\u201d and that he was set to fly to France on Friday.<\/p>\n
The judge said an order of protection remained in place requiring Pitt to stay away from the alleged victim, and that the legal team should notify the court by email of any of the actor\u2019s travel plans.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He\u2019s due back in court on Jan. 29, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
