DENVER (KDVR) \u2014 A Colorado resident was part of one of only three teams to make it to the season finale of \u201cMasterChef: Dynamic Duos,\u201d which aired on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cMasterChef\u201d is one of the many series that world-renowned celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has created over the years. It pits aspiring chefs against one another in challenges and competitions involving some form of cooking, which are judged by a panel. With each passing episode, a chef \u2014 or in this case, chefs is eliminated by the judges.<\/p>\n
Family shares story of Evergreen High School victim\u2019s heroic actions during shooting <\/a><\/p>\n Typically, the series is individual chefs competing, but for the 15th season of the show, a team effort had to succeed in \u201cMasterChef Dynamic Duos.\u201d<\/p>\n One of the teams that competed this year was comprised of cousins Tina Duong from Fountain Valley, California, and Aivan Tran from Fairplay, Colorado.<\/p>\n Duong and Tran were one of 10 teams to face off in \u201cMasterChef\u201d this season.<\/p>\n Week after week, episode after episode, the duo continued to seal their place on the show through the challenges, and after a long, grueling season of hard work, drama and being the occasional subject to the notoriously blunt Ramsay \u2014 Duong and Tran made it all the way to the finale.<\/p>\n The three finalist teams included:<\/p>\n Tina Duong and Aivan Tran<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Jessica Bosworth and Jesse Rosenwald<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Rachel Sanchez and Julio Figueredo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n For the final contest, teams were tasked with creating a three-course meal consisting of an appetizer, main and dessert for the panel of judges, which included:<\/p>\n Gordon Ramsay:<\/strong> British Michelin-star chef who has operated Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London with the highest Michelin rating of three stars for 22 years. He has multiple Michelin-star restaurants at various locations across the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Joe Bastianich:<\/strong> American Michelin-star chef who was awarded stars at his restaurants Babbo and Del Posto in New York. He has been a long-time collaborator with Ramsay and has been a judge for \u201cMasterChef\u201d and \u201cMasterChef: Junior.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Tiffany Derry: <\/strong>American James Beard-nominated chef who has competed on \u201cTop Chef\u201d and works as a restaurant wiz in Texas, with restaurants based on southern and Italian-inspired cuisine. She has also contributed to creating healthier meals for school children in her home state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The teams had to create their dishes around something personal to them. Duong and Tran used their Vietnamese roots as the inspiration for their food. Bosworth and Rosenwald did an ode to their home of New England and Sanchez and Figueredo paid tribute to immigration.<\/p>\n\n
