Simpson is performing in the Chicago suburb of Waukegan, Illinois on Saturday, September 20, at the Genesee Theater. It\u2019s part of a string of tour dates on the calendar as she wades back into live music.<\/p>\n
She first returned to the stage in March at the Recording Academy\u2019s Austin Chapter Block Party at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, where she debuted two new songs, \u201cBreadcrumbs\u201d and \u201cLeave.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was Simpson\u2019s first live performance<\/a> in 15 years and she took to Instagram after to thank the fans who turned out.<\/p>\n\u201cIt was an emotional coming back home to the best part of myself,\u201d she wrote under a video of footage from her set. \u201cThank you for embracing me. She later released two EPs, Nashville Canyon: Part I and Nashville Canyon: Part 2, her first releases since 2010.<\/p>\n
