Business Center at 5008 Prospect Ave., as well as at select restaurants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative follows a successful \u201cSavor The City\u201d guide to Black-owned restaurants that was released in February by <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascitygift.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kansas City G.I.F.T. (Generating Income for Tomorrow)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a nonprofit, full-service business center that provides Black business owners in Kansas City\u2019s historically redlined neighborhoods with equitable access to financial support through grants. It also provides free small business support to any small business in the Greater Kansas City area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.startlandnews.com\/2025\/02\/black-owned-dining-passport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The earlier dining guide was launched in response<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to political efforts \u201cto actively tear down support for Black and Brown communities,\u201d Calloway said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe knew we couldn\u2019t stop there,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt is important for us to continue to identify innovative ways that we can drive support to Black owned businesses in a way that fosters economic equity, and KC G.I.F.T. remains dedicated to supporting Black-owned businesses through aggressive funding and support.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new passport features 15 Black-owned arts and entertainment venues, providing recommendations, QR codes to their websites, and an interactive feature that allows diners to rate each experience on a scale of 1 to 5 plates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Venues featured include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People interested in helping to distribute the passports can pick up bulk quantities from the G.I.F.T.
