Veteran Nashville publicist Kim Fowler, 58, has died following a battle with early-onset dementia. She was 58.<\/p>\n
Her death comes only two months after $50,000 was raised in support<\/a> for continuing her Alzheimer’s disease-related dementia care.<\/p>\n Her brother, Shawn Fowler, confirmed her death on Sept. 18.<\/p>\n “To all the friends who love my sister so dearly, Kim is at peace. My beautiful best friend and sister has found peace,” her sister Paige Fowler posted on social media.<\/p>\n A 2015 picture of Nashville music industry publicist Kim Fowler in her East Nashville house with her dog Goose, one of the pets who inspired the name of her company, Two Dog Media<\/p>\n The date of a forthcoming celebration of life event has not been announced.<\/p>\n Over three decades, Fowler achieved renown for her work with Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Nickel Creek, among many artists.<\/p>\n “She was a beauty, with surprising poise and grace for someone with such a borderline raunchy sense of humor,” said colleague Molly Nagel-Driessen. “She filled that rare space where Southern charm and unexpected razor wit collide.”<\/p>\n “She’s a bright light, always there for anyone who needed her, especially if you have four legs. She’s a huge dog lover,” said Traci Thomas, Americana star Jason Isbell’s manager.<\/p>\n Fowler played an integral role in shepherding the Nashville country music industry’s ability to sustain its crossover renown and embedding Americana as a staple subgenre.<\/p>\n While working at Mercury Records, she aided acts like Twain, Toby Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus in selling north of 25 million albums in the early 1990s.<\/p>\n A decade later, at Sugar Hill Records, Fowler helped bluegrass-styled folk trio Nickel Creek achieve breakout, platinum-selling success.<\/p>\n Former Music Row publicist Kim Fowler, second from right, in late 2023, about six years after being diagnosed with dementia, with some former music industry co-workers and friends. People fell in love with her,” said Sandy Neese, Fowler’s boss at Mercury Records.<\/p>\n Over the past decade, Fowler exhibited symptoms she believed were tied to depression. However, a doctor eventually diagnosed her with early-onset dementia.<\/p>\n After moving from East Nashville and spending six years living with her parents near Chattanooga, Fowler’s condition worsened. Her siblings eventually moved her into a memory care facility in Dec. 2023.<\/p>\n In June 2025, Paige and Shawn Fowler launched a GoFundMe campaign to support their sister’s memory care, as her savings from disability and Social Security benefits were depleted.<\/p>\n “Her disability savings will run out. That is why Kim needs help now; we need to provide her with the care she requires,” they wrote on the GoFundMe campaign webpage.<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
