The remains found last week inside a Tesla<\/a> registered to rising indie pop singer d4vd were identified as those of a 15-year-old girl who had gone missing over a year ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Officers found the teen\u2019s body inside a Los Angeles tow yard last week after responding to a report of a \u201cfoul odor\u201d coming from a vehicle. The victim was identified on Wednesday as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s office <\/span>confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Last week, ABC affiliate <\/span>KABC-TV reported<\/a> that the vehicle was an impounded Tesla registered to d4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Riverside County Sheriff\u2019s Office told KTLA<\/a> that Hernandez had run away from home at least once before she was reported missing from Lake Elsinore in April 2024. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

According to the outlet, police said the teen\u2019s head and torso were found in a bag inside the front trunk of a Tesla that had been in the yard for five days.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Burke has not been charged with a crime at this time, but LAPD Detective Moses Castillo told the outlet that investigators would question the singer.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the registered owner of the vehicle. We need to know where he\u2019s been, cellphone records, where he\u2019s been all this time and connect the dots,\u201d he explained. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

A spokesperson representing Burke <\/span>told Los Angeles\u2019 KNBC<\/a> that the singer is still out on tour, but \u201cis fully cooperating with the authorities.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Burke won two BMI Pop Awards in 2024 for the songs <\/strong>\u201cRomantic Homicide\u201d and \u201cHere With Me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
