Comedy Central pulled an episode of South Park<\/em><\/a> from its linear broadcast rotation following the tragic shooting of conservative figure Charlie Kirk. But now, his team says Kirk would have wanted the show to keep it up.<\/p>\n The episode, titled \u201cGot a Nut,\u201d aired Aug. 6 and featured Cartman spoofing Kirk\u2019s signature hairstyle while hosting political debates at school. It was classic South Park<\/em> \u2014 sharp, absurd, and ready to roast anyone in the headlines. Just over a month later, Kirk was assassinated while speaking at a university event.<\/p>\n The network responded by quietly removing the episode from its TV schedule, though it remained available on Paramount+.<\/p>\n Andrew Kolvet, a longtime friend and executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show<\/em>, said the removal doesn\u2019t line up with Kirk\u2019s perspective. “Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park. He told me many times. He would want the episode back up,” he wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t just talk. Back in July, after the first teaser dropped, Kirk publicly responded to the parody with a surprising take.<\/p>\n Speaking to Fox News Digital<\/em><\/a> at the time, Kirk admitted, \u201cHonestly, my first reaction was that I kinda laughed.\u201d He described himself as a fan of the show from high school and said being targeted by the long-running animated series was \u201ca badge of honor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe as conservatives need to be able to take a joke,\u201d he added. \u201cThey\u2019re professional comedians\u2026 I think that\u2019s fine. That\u2019s what it\u2019s all about, being in public life and making a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n Kirk even changed the profile pictures on his Instagram<\/a> and TikTok<\/a> accounts to a screengrab of Cartman dressed like him. The TikTok account’s profile picture remains the same.<\/p>\n As of now, Comedy Central<\/em> hasn\u2019t commented on whether the episode will return to TV, and The Charlie Kirk Show<\/em> team hasn\u2019t made any formal requests.
