The\u00a0<em>High School Musical<\/em>\u00a0star responded to backlash she\u2019s been getting after what people saw as a tribute to conservative figure Charlie Kirk, and her words? Yeah, they did not land the way she probably hoped.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\">Ashley\u2019s Post: Trying to Be the Peacemaker<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On her Story, Ashley wrote:\u00a0<em>\u201cIt shouldn\u2019t be controversial to say this, but even when we disagree or find someone\u2019s views offensive, violence is never the answer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She followed it up by trying to remind people she\u2019s still on the \u201cright\u201d side of history, adding:\u00a0<em>\u201cAnd to be clear, I stand for equal rights for everyone. Women\u2019s rights, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights. Everyone. Some people thought Ashley was just saying the obvious. White privilege really just trumps everything I guess.
