Stewart, who usually only hosts on Mondays, opened the show in front of a gold-emblazoned, Trump-style backdrop to deliver what he described as the latest episode of a \u201cfun, hilarious, administration-compliant show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Adopting a mock\u2013state TV persona, Stewart offered nervous praise of President Donald Trump<\/a> and his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIf you felt off these last couple of days, it\u2019s probably because our great father has not been home,\u201d Stewart sarcastically began. \u201cFor father has been gracing England with his legendary warmth and radiance.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trump, Stewart continued, \u201cwowed the English with charm and intelligence, and an undeniable sexual charisma.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Stewart also admired the \u201cperfectly tinted\u201d president who \u201cdazzled his hosts, the British royal family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The host faux scolded himself at times when he realized he hadn\u2019t toadied up enough to Trump, before all the show\u2019s correspondents appeared on screen at the end \u2015 holding microphones emblazoned with an image of Trump\u2019s face \u2015 to pay tribute to the \u201cglorious\u201d leader, and conclude with a musical number.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
