It\u2019s the reality.\u201d The 30-year-old mom of two added that her last album \u201cdidn\u2019t perform the way they thought it was going to.\u201d That album was expected to bring in numbers similar to those of her 2020 album, \u201cManic.\u201d The musician defended a stance that it is unrealistic to expect all her works to fetch results similar to \u201cManic.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf I\u2019m being honest with you, the [Great Impersonator] album sold 100,000 f\u2013king copies first week,\u201d she exclaimed. Continuing, Halsey added that \u201cMy Last Trick Tour is the highest-selling tour of my entire career, but they want Manic numbers from me\u2026 I can\u2019t do that every single time.\u201d Comparing her 2020 album to the 2024 one, Halsey said, \u201cIt would be considered a success for most artists, 100,000 copies in the first week, in an era when we don\u2019t sell physical music.\u201d However, it\u2019s \u201ca failure in the context of the kind of success I\u2019ve had previously.\u201d<\/p>\n Halsey continued, \u201cAnd that\u2019s the hardest part of having been a pop star once.\u201d This is \u201cbecause I\u2019m not one any more, and I\u2019m being compared to people that I don\u2019t consider lateral to me.\u201d Additionally, the three-time Grammy Award winner acknowledged the support of her fans.
