The 33-year-old shared that her connection with queer club culture is simple: \u201cI love going out with my friends.\u201d She further added that she \u201cloves dancing and doing that in queer spaces because it feels safe to me.\u201d The singer revealed that she \u201cjust doesn\u2019t feel as safe\u201d in \u201ca straight club.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like when I go to a queer space, I know that I\u2019m among friends. I know I\u2019ll have a great time,\u201d she continued. The \u201cLet It Go\u201d singer also explained why she always felt safer in queer spaces. This is \u201cbecause queer people have a way of living so authentically, that it makes me feel like I can live authentically.\u201d Lovato stated that \u201chaving people around me that make me feel safe to be myself is something I always longed for as a kid in Texas.\u201d She explained, \u201cAs a queer kid in Texas, I had a lot of religious shame around coming out.\u201d<\/p>\n This is \u201cbecause growing up in the Bible belt \u2026 or maybe Texas isn\u2019t in the Bible belt, but you know what I mean.\u201d \u201cSo now I get to go out, and I get to live authentically and be myself,\u201d she added. Lovato called this an \u201camazing\u201d feeling. She is \u201ccelebrating with\u201d her \u201cmusic\u201d and also played \u201cKiss\u201d at a queer party. The award-winning singer concluded: \u201cI wanted to share it with my fans first. It went really great. I\u2019m so happy with how everyone loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n Lovato came out as pansexual and sexually fluid in March 2021. In her interview with Glamour<\/a>, the musician revealed feeling queer as she aged.
