The Queen would \u201cnail\u201d Strictly Come Dancing, judge Craig Revel Horwood has said.<\/p>\n
Queen Camilla, 78, has made no secret of her love for the BBC dancing competition, even describing herself previously as \u201cone of Strictly\u2019s big fans\u201d.<\/p>\n
She is known to watch the show with the King, and last year told one of the show\u2019s professional dancers that she had \u201calways wanted to tap dance<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n On BBC Breakfast, Revel Horwood said the Queen is a \u201cfantastic\u201d dancer after they were paired for a dance at the Royal Osteoporosis Society.<\/p>\n \u201cShe loves dancing,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cShe actually loves the show and I would love to see her on there because she would nail it, darling. She\u2019s got fantastic rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n When the Queen met Johannes Radebe<\/a>, a professional dancer on the show, last year, she revealed that she had once tried to do the cha-cha-cha with Revel Horwood. She said: \u201cIt was a dance I did a long time ago.\u201d<\/p>\n Previously, there have been reports of the Queen approving to host an episode from Buckingham Palace, but these plans have since been put on ice.<\/p>\n In 2017, parts of Strictly\u2019s Christmas Special<\/a> were filmed at the royal residence after the Queen \u2013 then the Duchess of Cornwall \u2013 hosted a tea party there for the show\u2019s celebrities and dancers as well as the National Osteoporosis Society.<\/p>\n The Queen, who watches Strictly with the King, said she had \u2018always wanted to tap dance\u2019 – Guy Levy\/BBC<\/p>\n Revel Horwood\u2019s comments come ahead of Strictly\u2019s return to TV screens for its 23rd series<\/a>, which begins on Saturday.<\/p>\n The show judge said Alex Kingston, the Doctor Who actress, Ross King, the entertainment reporter, and Dani Dyer-Brown, the reality TV star, were the ones to watch this year.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cRoss \u2013 he\u2019s fantastic, he\u2019s bringing loads of energy. I have to say, this year on Strictly, the energy is beyond. The people themselves are hilarious. After seeing them very briefly, I think Dani Dyer \u2013 I think she is fantastic. I\u2019m loving Alex \u2013 her humour is beyond, darling.<\/p>\n \u201cAs we know, you never know who\u2019s going to win, because the general public decides, and that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked about whether he worries about being cancelled for being so brutally honest about the contestants\u2019 dancing on the show, he said: \u201cI don\u2019t actually care. I\u2019m up there to tell the truth and be honest about the one minute 30 (seconds) that I see.<\/p>\n \u201cIf people don\u2019t like that, then lump it. The point I\u2019m making is that, you know, that is my job.<\/p>\n \u201cAm I worried about being cancelled? Not really. Yes, it\u2019s of concern, but I don\u2019t go into the whole realm of that. I think it\u2019s stupid, absolutely stupid.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, if I can\u2019t sit up there and say what I see, then there\u2019s something wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n The 23rd series of Strictly Come Dancing is set to air on Sept 20 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer – BBC<\/p>\n<\/span><\/div>\n
