Chase Rice<\/strong> had a summer to remember \u2014 partly because of Taylor Swift<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While attending Travis Kelce<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s Tight End University event<\/span><\/a> in June, Rice, 40, was able to thank Swift, 35, for her support of the song he wrote titled \u201cCruise.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually walked up to her and just said bye to Travis and her, and she said, \u2018Well, can you sit down for 10?\u2019\u201d Rice recalled to Us Weekly<\/i> before the Friday, September 19, release of his album Eldora<\/i>. \u201cI looked at her. I said, \u2018I got to write with Lori McKenna<\/strong> tomorrow. No, I\u2019m going home.\u2019 And she said, \u2018Oh, my God, I love Lori McKenna.\u2019 Luckily, I changed my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

What came next was a candid 45-minute conversation about a topic both parties are extremely passionate about.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just talked music, and I talked to her about \u2018Crusie\u2019 and it was a really, really full-circle moment that was cool,\u201d he recalled. \u201cWhile I\u2019m talking to her, she just has this way about her that\u2019s like, \u2018OK, you\u2019re not talking to Taylor Swift the superstar. You\u2019re just talking to Taylor,\u2019 and that\u2019s what it was. It was really, really cool to just all of a sudden sit down as just friends, not music people, even though we\u2019re talking music.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rice helped write \u201cCruise\u201d before it was recorded by Florida Georgia Line in 2012. It became one of the country music duo\u2019s biggest hits of their career.<\/p>\n

When the song was first gaining traction nearly 14 years ago, Rice said Swift expressed her support by tweeting about it.<\/span><\/a> After all these years, he remains grateful.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just two people talking about music and what we love, and just being friends for the first time in our lives,\u201d Rice added about his chat with the Grammy winner. \u201cShe was a big part of my career early on with that song and blowing it up, and it was a good moment to sit there and thank her for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

This summer, Rice was also able to finalize his highly anticipated new album titled Eldora<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In just one short week, the country singer wrote and recorded 12 songs in the quiet solitude of Eldora, Colorado. The finished product, Rice said, could be the best album he\u2019s ever made.<\/p>\n

I was just putting out whatever is popular, if I\u2019m being honest. \u2026\u00a0 With this album, I really want to write stories, and that\u2019s what we did. Nothing\u2019s overthought. We\u2019ve got the songwriting process locked in, and that\u2019s why it turned into what I believe is my best record ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n

With his album being released the same day as his 40th birthday, Rice also explained that his focus in life has shifted to be less about partying and more on \u201chealth and wealth.\u201d<\/p>\n
