When Terence Stamp<\/a> passed away on August 17, he left behind a legacy of incredible performances, ranging from his breakthrough role as the title character in \u201cBilly Budd<\/a>\u201d and assignments for European auteurs like Pier Paolo Pasolini<\/a> (\u201cTeorema<\/a>\u201d) and Federico Fellini<\/a> (\u201cToby Dammit<\/a>\u201d) to his comeback role as General Zod<\/a> in the \u201cSuperman<\/a>\u201d movies. Yet as good as all these films and many of his others are, there\u2019s one Terence Stamp movie that gave him the part he was born to play: director Steven Soderbergh<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Limey<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Working with a razor-sharp script by his \u201cKafka<\/a>\u201d and \u201cHaywire<\/a>\u201d collaborator Lem Dobbs<\/a>, Soderbergh made \u201cThe Limey<\/a>\u201d a tailor-made showcase for Stamp<\/a>\u2019s distinctive blend of wry humor, brooding intensity, and icy charisma. Stamp plays Wilson<\/a>, a British ex-con who travels to Los Angeles to avenge the murder of his daughter, whom he suspects was killed by aging music mogul Peter Fonda<\/a> or someone in his orbit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
