Both Kimmel and his late night show, \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!,\u201d were suspended indefinitely this week by ABC parent company Disney. That move came following heavy pressure by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who slammed Kimmel\u2019s comments earlier this week about murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk and, specifically, Trump and his MAGA supporters\u2019 responses to it.<\/p>\n

For his part, O\u2019Reilly said he tried to warn Kimmel in 2024 that something like this would happen sooner or later.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/figure>\n \u201cI got a message to Kimmel I would say about a year ago through Adam Carolla, who is a friend. I said, \u2018Look, Jim, why don\u2019t you give me a call? Because this isn\u2019t going in the right direction for you and your family,’\u201d the conservative news commentator and \u201cNo Spin News\u201d host explained Thursday night. \u201cOf course, he didn\u2019t call.\u201d<\/p>\n If Kimmel had returned his outreach, O\u2019Reilly knows exactly what he would have told him. \u201cI would have said, \u2018Look, you\u2019re getting consumed by hatred, and every human being who\u2019s consumed by hatred goes down. This was before the rise of Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n The longtime conservative news figure said that Kimmel became \u201cunrelenting\u201d in his criticisms of Trump and was in a competition with \u201cLate Show\u201d host Stephen Colbert over who could \u201cbash Trump the most.\u201d Despite that, O\u2019Reilly did not hesitate to express his personal disapproval of Kimmel\u2019s suspension. \u201cI\u2019m not happy Jimmy Kimmel got fired, and I know a lot of people are, including the president,\u201d O\u2019Reilly said. \u201cI\u2019m not happy about what has happened to him.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel, notably, has not been \u201cfired\u201d by ABC; the network has suspended him indefinitely for the time being.<\/p>\n The comedian\u2019s time-out has nonetheless sparked an intense debate about the future of free speech in America.
