For the second day in a row, the ladies of The View<\/em> made no mention<\/a> of fellow ABC host Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong>\u2019s suspension amid FCC chair Brendan Carr<\/strong>\u2019s comments that the daytime show could be next.<\/p>\n \u201cPanic has set in behind the scenes,\u201d the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> reported in a story published on Friday, September 19.<\/p>\n Hosts Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong>, Joy Behar<\/strong>, Sunny Hostin<\/strong>, Sara Haines<\/strong> and Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/strong> \u2014 who frequently engage in political debates on the show \u2014 are in disagreement about whether to speak out about ABC\u2019s decision to take Kimmel off the air following his comments about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk<\/strong>, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s definitely a difficult dynamic going on,\u201d a source told Daily Mail<\/em>, noting that some of the stars are fearful of censorship and keeping their jobs while others don\u2019t want to \u201ctrash\u201d their own network.<\/p>\n During an appearance on The Scott Jennings Radio Show<\/em><\/a> on September 18, Carr mentioned the FCC\u2019s \u201cequal opportunity rule<\/a>\u201d (sometimes referred to as the \u201cequal time\u201d rule) which states that radio TV broadcasts must provide the same access to competing political candidates.<\/p>\n \u201cBut there\u2019s an exception to that rule called the bona fide news exception,\u201d he said. \u201cI think it\u2019s worthwhile to have the FCC look into whether The View<\/em> and some of the programs that you have still qualify as bona fide news programs and therefore exempt from the equal opportunity regime that Congress has put in place.\u201d<\/p>\n His comments have caused \u201cpanic across the board,\u201d the source told the Daily Mail<\/em>. \u201cABC as a whole is being attacked \u2014 not just The View<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Instead of Kimmel, the discussion on September 19 revolved around former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong>\u2019 upcoming memoir, per People<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n As the Enquirer<\/em> previously reported, Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> was pulled<\/a> from air indefinitely<\/a> on Wednesday, September 17, after receiving pressure from the FCC and multiple stations owners due to comments they deemed controversial.<\/p>\n \u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel, who had previously offered condolences<\/a> to Kirk\u2019s family on social media, said on his show.<\/p>\n Media conglomerate Sinclair, which was the first to pull the show, said in a statement on September 17 (via Variety<\/em><\/a>) that Kimmel, 57, can only return if he offers an apology to Kirk\u2019s family and a \u201cmeaningful contribution\u201d to the late activist\u2019s organization, Turning Point USA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/staging.nationalenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Featured-2-Charlie-Kirk-Jimmy-Kimmel.jpeg\")
