Shaun White<\/strong><\/a> and Nina Dobrev<\/strong><\/a> \u201cgrew apart\u201d before news broke of their split, Us Weekly<\/em> has learned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no drama here. No cheating was involved,\u201d a source tells Us<\/em> exclusively of Dobrev, 36, and White, 39. \u201cThey were loyal to each other their entire relationship. At the end of the day, they\u2019re human beings, just like everyone else. They genuinely just grew apart and realized they would be better off just as friends and not husband and wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

People<\/em> was the first to confirm on September 11 that Dobrev and White had called it quits after five years together. The pair announced their engagement in October 2024.<\/p>\n

According to a second insider, the duo were already in the process of planning their nuptials<\/a> when they decided to end their relationship.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNina Dobrev and Shaun White shockingly called off their engagement and ended their five-year relationship in September 2025. The Vampire Diaries alum and the Olympic snowboarder went public with their relationship in 2020 and, four years later, White popped the question with a 5-carat ring from designer Lorraine Schwartz during a romantic meal at The [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThey had finally started planning the wedding and things were in motion,\u201d the second source explains, adding that Dobrev has been leaning on her friends for support. \u201cIt\u2019s still very fresh, but she\u2019s been supported by her closest girlfriends who have been checking in on her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to Dobrev and White\u2019s reps for comment.<\/p>\n

White gushed to Us<\/em> about his relationship with Dobrev in 2021, a year after they began dating.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a nice little system of how to stay in touch,\u201d he said. \u201cPlane tickets are pretty much booked for any opportunity that we can go see one another. So, I know during the holiday break, we\u2019re going to meet up, and we\u2019re going to meet up again probably around Christmastime. Anything that happens in between, then I\u2019ll jet over and see her. You just make it work.\u201d<\/p>\n
