A \u201cRocky<\/a>\u201d movie is set to film in New Jersey, but it\u2019s no sequel.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also not a film in the \u201cCreed\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a movie about the making of the first \u201cRocky\u201d film released in 1976.<\/p>\n Director Peter Farrelly<\/a> is helming \u201cI Play Rocky<\/a>,\u201d which will tell the behind-the-scenes story of the Oscar winner for best picture.<\/p>\n Farrelly, who won the Oscar for best picture for \u201cGreen Book<\/a>,\u201d will be joined by actor Anthony Ippolito<\/a>, who is playing a young Sylvester Stallone in the Amazon MGM Studios movie.<\/p>\n Ippolito previously played Al Pacino in \u201cThe Offer<\/a>\u201a\u201d the Paramount+ series about the making of another best picture winner \u2014 Francis Ford Coppola<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Godfather<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI Play Rocky,\u201d written by Peter Gamble (\u201cOffice Uprising\u201d), follows Stallone in his pre-\u201cRocky\u201d career and tracks his determination to play boxer Rocky Balboa after writing the script for the highly successful independent film.<\/p>\n Local extras are being cast for \u201cI Play Rocky,\u201d which is scheduled to film Oct. 15 through Dec. 5 in New Jersey \u2014 and possibly several days in Philadelphia, Grant Wilfley Casting tells NJ Advance Media.<\/p>\n
