Popular singer d4vd <\/a>canceled his remaining U.S. tour dates amid an investigation into the decomposed body of a missing teenage girl that was found inside his impounded Tesla just days after he performed in Chicago.<\/p>\n Celeste Rivas, 15, was found dead inside the vehicle, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office confirmed Wednesday. Officials have not determined her cause of death.<\/p>\n Rivas was last seen in April 2024 in Lake Elsinore, about 60 miles (95 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles. She was 13 at the time.<\/p>\n d4vd, 20, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, played a show at Chicago’s Salt Shed on Saturday, Sept 6., just two days before her body was found.<\/p>\n Her body was discovered Sept. 8 at a tow lot in Hollywood after someone noticed a stench coming from the Tesla, police said. The car was impounded after someone reported it was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, where neighbors say it had been parked for more than a month, NBC Los Angeles reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a statement, the medical examiner\u2019s office said the body \u201cwas found severely decomposed.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n Authorities have not implicated d4vd in her death.<\/p>\n An unnamed representative for d4vd told\u00a0NBC Los Angeles<\/a>\u00a0that the singer has been cooperating with authorities since the body was found. It\u2019s not clear why his car had been impounded.<\/p>\n d4vd continued his tour after the discovery, until ultimately canceling<\/a> his Seattle performance on Wednesday, Sept. 16, and then the rest of his remaining U.S. tour dates<\/a> on Friday, NBC Los Angeles reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n Details about the status of upcoming performances in Europe were not immediately available.<\/p>\n Following the Salt Shed performance, the singer’s tour traveled to Madison, Wisc. for a performance on Sunday, Sept. 7. The day after Rivas’ body was found, on Sept. 9, d4vd’s tour stopped in Minneapolis, and then went to Kansas City, Mo. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, according to a post on D4vd’s\u00a0Instagram<\/a>. <\/p>\n He played shows in Denver and then in Salt Lake City before deciding to cancel his Seattle performance and the rest of the “Withered” tour. <\/p>\n D4vd (pronounced \u201cDavid\u201d) is a Houston-born singer-songwriter who broke through in 2022 with the hit \u201cRomantic Homicide,\u201d which went viral on TikTok and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard\u2019s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. His hit next \u201cHere With Me\u201d followed suit, further cementing his moody, emotional style. Each of those two songs has racked up more than 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.<\/p>\n He released his debut album “Withered” in April and embarked on a world tour.<\/p>\n
